Youth Services

The youth mental health program consists of a team of social practitioners, psychologists, family physicians, a psycho educator, an art therapist and a consulting child psychiatrist. The interdisciplinary team, in partnership with the other services provided at the CSSS and with hospitals, community resources and organizations, works together to assure the continuity of services to youth and their families. The team provides a range of services that include evaluation and orientation, individual and/or family treatment and intervention.

Clientele

Youth who have difficulty functioning at home or at school and who presents the following mild or moderate symptoms:

• Social withdrawal
• Anxiety
• Suicidal Thoughts
• Depression
• Behavior disorder
• Mood disorder
• Difficulties related to the developmental stages 
• Difficulties in family functioning
• Affective disorder


The factors that influence the level of services are symptomatic manifestations, deterioration of the situation, and environmental factors or psychosocial problems combined with family functioning.

Adult Services

The mental health program for adults consists of a team of social practitioners, nurses, a psychologist, occupational therapist, home support workers, physicians, a consulting psychiatrist and a geriatric psychiatrist. The team provides a range of services that includes evaluation and orientation, therapy, psychosocial support, medical and nursing care, group work and support to caregivers at the CSSS or in the person’s home, depending on the need. The mental health interdisciplinary team works in partnership with hospitals, community resources and organizations.  

Clientele

  1. Adults (individuals, couples, families) with mental health problems (grief, anxiety, depression, etc.) and who live on the territory of the CSSS Cavendish.
  2. Adults with severe mental health problems (who may or may not have a psychiatric diagnosis and who may or may not be followed in psychiatry) and who live on the territory of the CSSS Cavendish.
  3. The caregivers of the clientele mentioned above with related problems to their roles as a caregiver.

The CSSS Cavendish obtained its accreditation!
